KATE WHITLEY

Piano

Kate is a 2014 Borletti Buitoni Trust Special Award winner (piano). She premiered her own Concerto for Piano and Strings in 2010 under Sven Arne Tepl at the Bishopsgate Institute, London. Her Wigmore Hall debut recital with clarinettist Mark Simpson took place in October 2012, and she performed Shostakovich’s 2nd Piano Concerto with The Corinthian Orchestra at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in 2014. She has received scholarships to attend Margess International of Switzerland, IMS Prussia Cove to study with Thomas Ades and Dartington International Summer School to study with Andrew Zolinksy. Her teachers have included Mark Hooper, John York, Rolf Hind and Charles Owen.
