Kate’s music has been performed across the UK and Europe and broadcast on BBC Radio 3. She has written 3 chamber operas: Bonesong, premiered in Cambridge Zoology Museum, Unknown Position about a woman who falls in love with a chair, and Terrible Lips, a sci-fi dance opera.  In 2014 she was commissioned to write The Cruel Cut in collaboration with poet Sabrina Mahfouz as part of the campaign to Stop FGM in UK. Her 2014 piece Alive for children’s choir and orchestra won a 2015 British Composers Award and was acclaimed as ‘a remarkable feat *****’ (The Telegraph). Her 2016 projects include Flight with choreographer Malgorzata Dzierzon for Rambert Dance Company and an opera about two children who get trapped in a zoo overnight with Sabrina Mahfouz for Blackheath Children’s Opera.  She was 2013-4 Music Fellow at Rambert Dance Company and 2015 New Music Programmer at Kettles Yard Art Gallery. Her music for Flight by choreographer Malgorzata Dzierzon for Rambert toured the UK in 2016, and in 2017 Blackheath Halls are premiering her opera with librettist Sabrina Mahfouz, Paws and Padlocks, which is about two children who get trapped in a zoo overnight. Her debut disc I am I say is released by NMC Recordings in March 2017.
